The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team is seeking a fourth straight NCAA Tournament berth under head coach JR Payne as they enter the 2024-25 season.
The Buffs have had three 20-win seasons and reached the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 for the past two seasons, echoing the program’s success under Ceal Berry.
Colorado even got a taste of Big 12 action last season when it faced Kansas State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and beat the Wildcats in Manhattan. They’ll get a rematch this season, just like the old Big 12 days before the Buffs left for the Pac-12.
The Colorado schedule includes 11 non-conference games and 18 Big 12 games.
Colorado doesn’t have a non-conference tournament, a rarity in the conference. The Buffs will play a neutral site game with Nevada in Stateline, Nev., at the Tahoe Blue Event Center.
Colorado will open Big 12 action at home against West Virginia on Dec. 21 and end it on the road at Texas Tech on March 1.
The Big 12 Tournament will be held March 5-10 at T-Mobile Arena and all 16 teams will participate, with the top four teams in the final standings getting double byes and the teams that finished in fifth through eight place will get single byes.
