With the addition of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, and BYU, the Big 12 has seen a flurry of late-night kicks in its weekly scheduling. With all of those teams being on Mountain Time, the kick times are an hour later than the majority of the traditional Big 12 schools, who are in the Central Time zone.

The Big 12 has somewhat adopted the “Pac-12 After Dark” feel that we saw in years past, and just like in those games, we typically have some pretty crazy outcomes.

However, it appears that Big 12 fans might already be over having to stay up until 1:00 a.m. CT to see the end of a football game.

This past weekend, we asked Big 12 fans if they were tired of 9:00 p.m. kicks, and over half of those who answered the poll said yes.

Unfortunately, for those of you who are already over it, there’s probably not an alternative as long as the league remains as widespread as it is.

Heading into Week 8, we have two games that will kick after 9:00 p.m. CT.

The first is Oklahoma State at BYU, which is scheduled for a 9:15 p.m. CT kick on Friday night, and the second is on Saturday night, when Utah hosts TCU for a 9:30 p.m. kick.

Both of those games are being aired on ESPN, and with that, they’ll be the biggest games in their respective windows. As long as that continues, those late night games are sticking around. So, grab a coffee, an energy drink, or some adult beverages and get ready to hang out for a while. Or, go to bed and record that bad boy — it’ll be there when you wake up in the morning.
