The UCF Knights have put together a strong schedule for its 2024-25 season under coach Sytia Messer.
The Knights are coming off a 12-17 season in Messer’s second year in Orlando. She hasn’t yet taken the Knights to the NCAA Tournament last season was a bit of a step back from her debut in 2022-23, when the Knights went 14-15.
She’s a former assistant coach under Kim Mulkey at both Baylor and LSU, and was at one time the head coach at Tennessee Tech. The Knights went to the NCAA Tournament the season before she arrived. Her predecessor, Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, took the open job at Georgia.
The Knights will play two games in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center, as they’ll face UNLV and then Montana in the UNLV Thanksgiving Classic.
UCF opens Big 12 play on Dec. 21 at home against TCU, while it ends the league slate on the road on March 2 at Houston.
The Big 12 Tournament will be held March 5-10 at T-Mobile Arena and all 16 teams will participate, with the top four teams in the final standings getting double byes and the teams that finished in fifth through eight place will get single byes.
