The Week 8 Big 12 college football attendance numbers came in after this weekend’s games, and the conference had a strong showing overall.
There was a full slate of games this week, and five of the eight contests were played in front of 99% or higher capacity crowds, with a couple of them going over 100%.

- Arizona State at Cincinnati: 38,007 (95.02%)
- Kansas State at West Virginia: 54,327 (90.55%)
- Houston at Kansas: 38,619 (50.54%)
Week 8’s largest crowd, by sheer number of people, was on Friday night when BYU played host to Oklahoma State for arguably the best game of the entire weekend.
It was a back-and-forth game that ended with a game-winning touchdown pass with 10 seconds left, and it happened in front of a raucous crowd of 62,841 at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The Cougars’ 38-35 win propelled them to 7-0 on the year, keeping them among a dwindling list of undefeated teams.
Meanwhile, the largest crowd by capacity was just up the road in Salt Lake City on Saturday night, as 53,299 (103.61%) piled into Rice Eccles Stadium to watch Utah vs. TCU. Unfortunately for the Utes, this one didn’t end in their favor, as the visiting Horned Frogs won 13-7, handing Utah (4-3, 1-3) their third straight loss.
UCF vs. Iowa State (100%), Colorado vs. Arizona (99.89%), and Baylor vs. Texas Tech (99.63%) all played in front of at or near-capacity crowds too, but only one of those games left the home team feeling good about things moving forward. Iowa State’s 38-35 win kept the Cyclones tied for first in the Big 12 race, but both Arizona and Texas Tech lost in blowout fashion on their home turf.
