The Arizona State Sun Devils may be on their bye week, but the work never stops for a college football coach. Recruiting is happening around the clock in today’s environment, and while the Sun Devils are hopefully getting some down time, Kenny Dillingham found out he lost a four-star recruit on Wednesday night.
Adrian Wilson announced on social media that he would be decommitting from Arizona State, saying, in part, “Re-opening my recruitment was not an easy decision, as I hold a great deal of respect for the coaching staff and the vision you have for the program. I believe this choice is necessary for my personal and athletic growth, and I wish nothing but the best for the team and the future of ASU.”
Well, six minutes before Wilson posted this on social media, Dillingham got to his X account first, writing, “Great day to be a Sun Devil”.
Wilson is a four-star recruit, according to the 247Sports composite. The Pflugerville, Texas native is 6′ and 170 pounds. He visited Arizona State in April and picked the Sun Devils over Auburn, Oregon, TCU, Texas A&M and several other top programs in the country.

Adrian Wilson and Colorado Football
Wilson announced shortly after his decommitment he had received an offer from Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
According to On3, Wilson is expected to visit Colorado this weekend. The Buffaloes are hosting Cincinnati for a 9:15 p.m. CT kick off in Boulder.

Arizona State Football Recruiting Ranking
Right before the decommitment, the Sun Devils ranked 4th in the Big 12 in recruiting rankings, per 247Sports. But that ranking includes Wilson, who was one of three four-star prospects the Sun Devils had for the Class of 2025.
After 247Sports removed Wilson from the Sun Devils list of commitments, the team plummeted to 9th, behind Arizona and ahead of Oklahoma State, as of October 23rd, 2024.
The Sun Devils’ remaining two four-star prospects are quarterback Cameron Dyer from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and tight end AJ Ia from Orange County, California.
Arizona State football is off before taking on Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Saturday, November 2nd.
