Texas Tech enters the game down a total of six players in the matchup vs. their in-state rivals.
The six players sidelined for the Red Raiders are senior wide receiver Drae McCray, junior offensive tackle Dalton Merryman, senior linebacker Bryce Ramirez, freshman safety Marcus Ramon-Edwards, freshman offensive lineman Dylan Shaw, freshman safety Javeon Wilcox.
The loss of multiple players led to a struggle-filled first half of action for Texas Tech, with the TCU Horned Frogs scoring on back-to-back drives to kick off the game. Sophomore quarterback Josh Hoover led TCU with a dazzling start through the air. The Texas native completed seven of eight passes in his first two drives, resulting in 113 yards and a score through the air.
Entering Week 9, the Red Raiders have had an up-and-down season, with wins over Arizona State, Cincinnati, and Arizona and a blowout loss to Baylor. Led by the duo of junior quarterback Behren Morton and senior running back Tahj Brooks, Joey McGuire’s squad finds themselves with a 3-1 conference record, well on their way to contending for a Big 12 title this fall.
