The Iowa State Cyclones will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Week 10 of the college football season. It was announced that the pivotal Big 12 matchup would kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST on ESPN.
Iowa State is coming off a bye week and carries a 7-0 (4-0 Big) record into the contest after most recently beating UCF in Week 8, 38-35. The 11th-ranked Cyclones are right in the mix for both a Big 12 Championship and a College Football Playoff berth as we head into November.
Meanwhile, Texas Tech (5-3, 3-2) is coming off its second consecutive loss — and a heartbreaker at that — with a 35-34 defeat at the hands of TCU. The Red Raiders had a 17-point lead late in the third quarter but were outscored 21-3 over the last 20 or so minutes.

According to ESPN BET, Iowa State is a 14.5-point favorite over Texas Tech. According to WagerTalk, the Over/Under opened at 57 points and has moved to 56.5 as of Monday afternoon.

Iowa State and Texas Tech have met 21 times in their history and 19 times as members of the Big 12. Their first-ever meeting came in 1967, when Texas Tech recorded a 52-0 win over the Cyclones in Lubbock.
The most recent meeting in this series was in 2022, when Texas Tech won 14-10 in Ames — just their fourth win in Ames in series history. TTU has won each of the last two meetings, but Iowa State has won five of the last seven meetings dating back to 2016.

As long as Iowa State avoids the post-bye week hangover, the Cyclones should move to 8-0 on the season. Texas Tech has struggled mightily on defense this season, and their offense should have a hard time scoring at will against a good ISU defensive unit.
If Behren Morton can play, this game should be relatively competitive, but if Will Hammond is forced to make his first start on the road in Ames, it could be a one-sided affair.
