If you thought Oklahoma State‘s 0-5 start in Big 12 play would result in running back Ollie Gordon sitting out the remainder of the 2024 college football season to prepare for the NFL Draft, not so fast. Gordon is going to stick it out and play the final four games of the season for the Cowboys.
Gordon was asked about this at practice on Monday, two days after the Cowboys lost at Baylor. The star running back responded, “My momma always told me you finish what you started … because are season isn’t going how it’s supposed to I’m just going to give up now? I find that’s really weird. And the way that people who can just sit there and say that is crazy. They’re wasting their breath saying it because I’m not giving up on my team.”
Oklahoma State’s season has completely spiraled after a 3-0 start in non-conference play. But now the Cowboys have lost five in a row in conference play against Utah, K-State, West Virginia, BYU and Baylor.

Gordon’s season isn’t living up to the hype either. He has 135 carries for 568 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry, while scoring eight touchdowns. He also has 22 catches for 123 yards and one receiving score.
The Cowboys are in the midst of a five-game losing streak for the first time since the 2014 season.
Oklahoma State is back at home on Saturday taking on FOX Sports 1, with kick off set for 6:00 p.m. CST in Stillwater.
