Iowa State Star TE Sidelined on Crutches

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Ahead of Iowa State’s Week 10 matchup vs. Texas Tech, one key member of the Cyclones was seen on the sidelines on crutches.

That player was sophomore tight end Ben Brahmer, who is out this afternoon vs. Texas Tech.

In 2024, Brahmer has recorded 10 catches for 179 yards and a score. He joined the Cyclones as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2023 after being listed as the nation’s 760th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 107th-ranked player at his position and the sixth-ranked player in the state of Nebraska.

Prior to the matchup, Matt Campbell provided a positive update on the Nebraska native, saying, “Ben’s situation probably was the biggest win of Saturday night that we had. It didn’t look great on Saturday, but as we were able to get X-rays and MRIs and all those good things, we think we’re gonna get Ben back.”

Brahmer was able to practice to some extent leading up to the match but was suited up in street clothes on crutches at the Jack Trice Stadium Sidelines.
