It’s no secret that the Arizona Wildcats have been a disappointment this fall, and on Saturday night, head coach Brent Brennan confirmed that fact.

After dropping a conference game to 56-12 to UCF in blowout fashion, Brennan made a statement about the team’s overall performance and bashed the coaching staff.

“It’s totally unacceptable,” Brennan said. “We need to coach better. We need to go through everything and get back to finding how we can execute in all three phases. We need to play some clean football and we did not do that tonight.

The Week 10 loss to UCF marked the fifth-straight loss for Brent Brennan’s group, dating back to Week 5 in a September 28th win over Utah. Brennan and the Wildcats were picked to finish fifth in the Big 12 Preseason Media Poll but now sit in 15th place with a 3-6 overall record and 1-5 in conference play.

“I think the hardest part is that I feel like I’m letting them down,” Brennan continued. “Because I love how they show up to work every week, and they’re great kids, and I believe in our coaching staff, and I believe in these kids. We have to really dig in these next two weeks and give us a chance to play better football.”

Arizona returns to action in Week 12 on Friday, November 15th, at 9:15 p.m. CT vs. Houston.
