Tim Tebow Believes Shedeur Sanders Can Lead Colorado to Big 12 Title

NCAA Football: Baylor at Colorado

With the Colorado Buffaloes surging this fall, currently sitting in third place in the Big 12, Tim Tebow believes that the Buffs may have what it takes to win a Big 12 Championship.

On SportsCenter, Tebow mentioned that senior quarterback Shedeur Sanders can bring a championship back to Colorado.

“Well, I believe that he can, but my biggest question is if he’s going to get the right support around him,” Tebow said. “Over the last two weeks, the offensive line in the running game has doubled what they were doing, but if they take a step back, and they keep putting the pressure on him, there’s just no way. It’s just too much pressure.”

Holding a 4-1 record in conference play, Colorado earned its second consecutive week in the AP Poll as the nation’s 21st-ranked team. The group holds some solid wins this season over Arizona, UCF, Cincinnati, and Baylor, with the lone loss coming against No. 22 Kansas State.

“Week after week, he’s getting hit over and over and over,” Tebow continued. “He’s having to make plays like this [shown on screen]. And guess what? You just can’t sustain that. Every single week, the last couple of weeks, they’ve been able to run the ball, protect him, and look at what they’ve been able to do. It’s been pure domination. But you have to be able to protect him. If not, it’s just too much on his shoulders, even though he can carry the load.”

Colorado hits the field at 3:00 p.m. CT on the road in Lubbock vs. Texas Tech. The game is massive in the grand scheme of the Big 12 title race, as both teams are in hot pursuit of the top spot in the league.
