According to Chad Brendel of BearcatJournal.com, one of the premier nonconference games of 2025 could be moved to a different venue.
On Friday, Brendel reported that there have been “ongoing discussions” about moving the Week 1 matchup between Cincinnati and Nebraska to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City (MO), rather than it being played at Lucus Oil Stadium in Indianapolis (IN).
Brendel goes on to say that the deal isn’t done, but it does “appear to be trending in that direction,” as of Friday afternoon.
Interestingly, this would be the second time that the game’s venue has changes, as it was originally supposed to be the second part of a home-and-home series between the programs. However, the 2020 game was canceled due to Big Ten restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic and is now rescheduled for 2032.
The biggest impact that this venue change would have would be travel for each of the fanbases. As it stands, Cincinnati fans would have less than a two-hour drive to get to the game in Indy, while a move to Kansas City would make it just short of nine hours.
Meanwhile, Nebraska fans would go from having to travel just under 10 hours to just over three hours if the game is moved.
