Big 12 Football Teams Dominate ‘Watchability’ Ranking Down the Stretch of the 2024 Season

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Oklahoma State

While it’s no secret that the Big 12 Conference has the most exciting football product in the country every week, recent rankings from Kelley Ford put the excitement into numbers.

According to Ford’s watchability rankings for the final three weeks of the season, 11 teams from the league earned placements inside the top 30.

The 11 teams featured kick off with No. 2 Iowa State, followed by No. 6 Kansas State, No. 7 Kansas, No. 12 Cincinnati, No. 14 Utah, No. 18 UCF, No. 21 Colorado, No. 22 BYU, No. 23 Arizona State, No. 24 West Virginia, and No. 27 Baylor.

The race for Arlington has added even more excitement to what is already the most exciting league in college football. With six teams sitting at least 4-2 in conference play with three games to go, the league is a coin flip of which teams collide in the championship game.

The favorite to make the title game is, without question, BYU, who currently sits at No. 7 in the country with a perfect 9-0 record. Chasing the Cougars are Deion Sanders and Colorado, who trail the team with a 5-1 record in conference play, with the lone loss coming against No. 20 Kansas State. The Wildcats are on of four teams within striking distance of championship weekend, alongside Arizona State, West Virginia, and Iowa State.

While it may not get the unanimous respect that the SEC and Big Ten gets on a consistent basis, the Big 12 Conference is a sight for sore eyes in the modern era of college football.
