After back-to-back impressive outings vs. then-ranked No. 16 Kansas State and No. 17 Iowa State, Kansas football appears to be back on the horse.
Junior quarterback Jalon Daniels has hit his stride and bounced back from a rough start to the 2024 season, and now has the opportunity to take on the Big 12’s top-ranked team.
On Friday, in an article from 247Sports’ Cody Nagel, the matchup between Kansas and No. 7 BYU was listed as a main one to watch in Week 12 with the Jayhawks as a major upset threat.
“How long can the mojo at BYU hold out? After several close calls this season, the Cougars could be due for a letdown as they host a dangerous Kansas team Saturday night in Provo,” Nagel said. “Do not be misled by the 3-6 record of the Jayhawks. They have lost five games by just one possession and are one of the best teams with a sub-.500 record. Kansas outplayed Iowa State last week and nearly upset Kansas State the week before. BYU continues to find ways to win, but there is a reason this betting line is so tight.”
Since their 1-5 start, the Jayhawks have bounced back with a 2-1 record in their last three games. In the three-game stretch, Kansas is averaging 466 yards of total offense and 38 points per game. While BYU has been a team of destiny through the first nine weeks of the season, Kansas presents a new threat with a surging team.
Saturday’s matchup between Kansas and No. 7 BYU kicks off at 9:15 p.m. CT in Provo, live on ESPN.
