One of Deion Sanders’ close personal friends is none other than Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin.
On Tuesday, Irvin made headlines with some comments about his friend Coach Prime and the likelihood of Sanders leaving Colorado for a job with the Dallas Cowboys.
When asked about the reality of Deion Sanders accepting the Cowboys’ job in the event that the team selects Shedeur Sanders with their first pick, Irvin seemed incredibly confident in the outcome.
“I believe 100%, and I can tell you there are sources that have told me that,” Irvin said. “Great sources have told me that. That’s all I can say without violating anything else.”
While Irvin believes Sanders would accept the job for Dallas, Colorado Athletic Director Rick George disagrees. George made it clear that Sanders is loyal to the program and does not anticipate an offseason departure for Coach Prime.
“I think there’s a lot of people out there that want to say that he’s jumping in Boulder, and then he’s out of here,” George said. “Deion’s not going anywhere. The guy’s committed here, and he’s just getting started.”
As future coaching conversations spiral, Coach Prime has a tough task on his plate if he hopes to get his team to a Big 12 Championship this fall. The Buffaloes kick off a massive Week 13 game against the surging Kansas Jayhawks on the road at Arrowhead Stadium. That game starts on Saturday, November 23rd, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
