If you’ve spent any time following college football, or any level of football for that matter, you’ve heard the name Travis Hunter.
Since shocking the world and committing to Jackson State over Florida State — as the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2022 — Hunter has been a sensation.
When he followed head coach Deion Sanders to Colorado, the world finally got to see what makes Hunter a generational-type of talent. He plays cornerback and wide receiver at an elite level, and he does so almost effortlessly while logging more snaps than any other player in the country.
His 2024 season has NFL scouts and general managers wringing their hands, wondering how they’re going to put themselves into a position to draft the best player in college football.
On Thursday, Hunter was asked if there was any doubt as to whether he’ll be headed to the NFL after this season.
His answer?
“That’s definitely for sure.”
So, is there definitely doubt about it, or is it definitely for sure I’m headed to the NFL?
There’s not really been any doubt about him entering the 2025 NFL Draft, but this answer is pure comedy, and it had dozens of people wondering what exactly he meant.
Through the first ten games of the 2024 season, Hunter has put together a Heisman-worthy campaign as a two-way player.
Offensively, he’s logged 74 catches for 911 yards (12.3 yards per catch) and nine touchdowns while also recording 23 tackles, eight PBUs, one forced fumble, and three interceptions on defense.
There’s not anyone else out there like Hunter, and that’s what makes him a betting favorite to be among the first players off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Colorado is set to face Kansas this weekend in Arrowhead Stadium, and has Big 12 title hopes on the line. If the Buffs can win each of their next two games, they’ll be guaranteed a spot in the Big 12 Championship, and with Hunter on their side, it’s going to be quite the task to keep them from doing just that.
