While Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels has had an up-and-down season this fall, he continues to generate buzz as an NFL prospect.
Though Daniels is listed as a redshirt junior, he plans to participate in Senior Day for Kansas, which likely means his career with the Jayhawks is coming to a close.
While participating in Senior Day does not guarantee that a player is departing the program, more often than not, that day serves as the last home honor for the veteran batch of athletes.
Daniels has bounced back in a big way in 2024 after throwing eight interceptions through the first five weeks of action. Since Kansas’ 38-27 loss to TCU, Daniels has taken much better care of the football with a touchdown to interception ratio of 8-2. He is also nearing the 2,000 passing yard mark, with 145 completions for 1,985 yards on the year.
Kansas’ Senior Day happens to fall on one of the biggest matchups of the season for the Jayhawks, as Lance Leipold’s group gets set to clash with Deion Sanders and the 16th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes at Arrowhead Stadium. Despite losing five of their first six games, Kansas is now two wins away from reaching a bowl game after back-to-back Top 25 wins.
Daniels and the Jayhawks kick off the Week 13 matchup vs. Colorado on Saturday, November 23rd, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
