On Monday, Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs added a new player in the Class of 2025, JUCO defensive lineman Kelten Mickell.
Mickell, a three-star defensive tackle from Jones College, chose the Horned Frogs over offers from 19 different programs, including Kansas State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Miami, and more.
Coming out of Jones College in the Class of 2025, Mickell is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s fourth-ranked JUCO prospect. He also checks in as the fourth-ranked player at his position and the third-ranked player in the state of Mississippi. While 247Sports and On3 view Mickell as the fourth-ranked player in his class, Rivals has the Mississippi native as the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025.
“Just the coaches and players, they are all like family and want to see you succeed not just in football, but in life,” Mickell said to 247Sports’ Jeremy Clark. “They need a guy that can come in and make an impact. They like my twitch and get off at the line of scrimmage.
With his commitment, Mickell became the Horned Frogs’ blank addition to the Class of 2025, which jumped to the nation’s blank-ranked group.
“[JaMarkus McFarland] Great coach, real passionate about what he does,” Mickell continued. “Great atmosphere and great facilities.”
