Where Can You Keep Up With the Big 12 Tiebreakers?

Syndication: Austin American-Statesman

As it turns out, 13 weeks of Big 12 football wasn’t enough to decide even one of the two teams that will play in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday, December 7.

Now, a decisive Week 14 will determine which two programs – nine teams still have a shot – will head to Arlington next week to play for a chance at the Big 12 title, and perhaps a College Football Playoff spot.

Four teams have an inside track to the title game with 6-2 records in Big 12 play coming into the weekend, with Arizona State, Iowa State, Colorado, and BYU all tied atop the standings.

However, the wide array of potential outcomes this weekend makes it nearly impossible to know who will actually advance, and who will get left out.

Luckily, the conference has provided a place for Big 12 football fans to keep up with all of the action, and what it means for the Big 12 Championship Game.

This week, the Big 12 Conference provided a landing page that will help keep track of everything going on in the eight games across league play. It even goes through the possible scenarios that could arise with ties at 7-2 – or even a dreaded 6-3 tie between up to eight teams – and how that would potentially play out.

“Entering Week 14, nine teams are still in contention for the 2024 Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship, which is scheduled for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 7 on ABC at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” the landing page reads.

“The Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship Tiebreakers Central page will update at the conclusion of each game on Friday and Saturday.”

The first game of the weekend is Oklahoma State at Colorado, which is set for an 11:00 a.m. CT kick on Friday morning.
