Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby said after losing to TCU that he plans to return to the Bearcats for the 2025 season.
“I love this place. We can get this team back to where it was a few years ago,” Sorsby said.
Cincinnati’s 20-13 loss to TCU put an end to their hopes of making a bowl game, as the loss dropped them to 5-7 on the season. After starting off the season 5-2, the Bearcats ended the season on a five-game losing streak. They lost to Colorado, West Virginia, Iowa State, K-State and TCU.
Sorsby went 21/34 for 160 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception for the Bearcats vs. TCU. On the season, he finished with 18 touchdowns to six interceptions, while throwing for over 2,600 yards and a 64% completion percentage. He also rushed for 352 yards and eight touchdowns.
Sorby’s best game came against Houston, went he went 12/15 for 188 yards and two touchdowns, good for a QBR of 97.0 in a 34-0 victory.
Cincinnati finished 5-7 this season and 3-6 in conference play in Year 2 under Scott Satterfield and the program’s second year in the Big 12. Last year, the team went 3-9 overall and 1-8 in the league.
