Look: Old Arizona State and Arizona Mascot Fight Video Goes Viral Again

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Arizona

Rivalry Week took on a whole new meaning on Saturday as multiple fights broke out in post-games across the college football landscape.

There was a brief postgame skirmish between Arizona State and Arizona on Saturday, following a fork planting.

And with that, a two-year-old clip of the Arizona State and Arizona mascots fighting starting making the rounds again.

This went viral on Saturday on social media as if it was from Saturday’s 49-7 ASU win, but it wasn’t.

As you will see on the original clip date mark, the clip is from the 2022 meeting between these teams. That game was won by Arizona 38-35.

As for Saturday’s Week 14 Game

From start to finish, the Sun Devils put their foot on the gas pedal and completely just ran over anyone or anything that got in their way on Saturday. Arizona State scored on a touchdown on their first four drives of the game and by halftime, had a 35-0 lead. Star running back Cam Skattebo had another incredible performance with 177 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, quarterback Sam Leavitt had a big day as well tossing three scores.

As good as their offense was, their defense completely shut down Arizona. They didn’t let the Wildcats get comfortable at all. Arizona State got pressure on Noah Fifita and completely eliminated any threat of a run game early on. What impresses me the most with this team is the trenches. They simply get after it and control the line of scrimmage. There was never any doubt in this game as Arizona State dominated on both sides of the ball. The Territorial Cup is heading back to Tempe for the first time in three years.

The win for Arizona State, combined with TCU’s win over Cincinnati, moved the Sun Devils to the Big 12 Championship Game next week in Arlington, which comes during their first season in the Big 12.
