Senior guard Kam Jones has been an early All-American contender through the first eight games of the non-conference slate, averaging a team-high 19.6 points per game. In addition to his impressive scoring numbers, Jones is finding ways to get his teammates involved, with 6.2 assists per game. He will be matched up with one of the best defenders in the country on Wednesday night, Iowa State’s Tamin Lipsey.
The junior guard is one of the Big 12’s premier all-around players, contributing on both ends of the floor. Lipsey leads his team in steals with 2.7 per contest and primarily follows the opposing team’s best scorers. Outside of Lipsey, the Cyclones feature a cast of impressive returners, all of whom can score the basketball, namely Keshon Gilbert and Curtis Jones, who combine for 32.7 points and eight assists per game.
