The Cincinnati Bearcats will bring back starting quarterback Brendan Sorsby, after the signal caller agreed to a new deal to stay at school, according to a post on X from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
As Pete Thamel notes, Sorsby finished the season with 2,813 passing yards, completing 64% of his passes with 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He also had 445 rushing yards and nine rushing scores on the season for the Bearcats.
Cincinnati’s season got off to a great start at 5-2, but then the Bearcats went on to lose their final five games in a row, to finish 5-7 and miss a bowl game for the second-straight year under head coach Scott Satterfield.
Sorsby transferred in after two season at Indiana. He threw for over 1,500 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions during the 2023 season before heading east to join the Bearcats. The Denton, Texas native was a three-star prospect out of high school, according to 247Sports, and was ranked as the No. 66 quarterback in the 247Sports composite.
Cincinnati’s offense ranked 13th in the Big 12 with 25.2 points per game, but was 7th in yards per game at 420.6. The Bearcats ranked 9th in the Big 12 with 236.5 passing yards per game.
But now, it’s time for Satterfield to hit the transfer portal and get the Bearcats as much help as possible on the offensive side of the ball for the 2025 season.
