Oklahoma State football is coming off the worst season it’s ever experienced under Mike Gundy, as the 20th season under his watch ended in a nine-game losing streak.
The most recent loss, a 52-0 no-show at Colorado, was followed by an outcry from OSU fans for Mike Gundy’s removal. While it did end with both offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn and defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo, Gundy is still in charge of the program in Stillwater – for now.
According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Gundy might be on his way out if some significant changes aren’t made.
Per Thamel, Gundy and Oklahoma State are in a contractual standoff, and he’s told people that the university has “come to him and asked him to take a restructured contract, which is expected to include a pay cut.”
However, there’s a catch – they haven’t given him details on the new contract. If Gundy doesn’t agree to the new contract, the school could fire him for cause, according to Thamel.
