2024 Liberty Bowl Teams, TV, Time Announced

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Texas Tech

The 2024 Liberty Bowl will feature the Texas Tech Red Raiders from the Big 12 and the Arkansas Razorbacks out of the SEC.

The Liberty Bowl shared the news on Sunday on social media as they get set to play the bowl game for a 66th time. The Liberty Bowl will kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN on Friday, December 27th.

Texas Tech will play in its 42nd bowl game in program history. This is the fourth straight bowl game for the Red Raiders, and third in a row for Joey McGuire, who has gone bowling in all three of his seasons in Lubbock.

It’s the longest bowl streak for Texas Tech since the Mike Leach era. The Red Raiders have won their last three bowl trips in each of the last three seasons as well, taking the Liberty Bowl in 2021, Texas Bowl in 2022, and last season Tech won the Independence Bowl 34-14 over Cal.

The Red Raiders went 8-4 this season, including a 6-3 mark in the Big 12 Conference. Their losses came to Washington State, Baylor, TCU and Colorado.

Meantime, Arkansas went 6-6 on the season and 3-5 in the SEC. They played one Big 12 team, Oklahoma State, this season and lost 39-31. That was one of only three wins for the Cowboys this season, who then went 0-9 in the Big 12.

If the Red Raiders win the game, they will have won four straight bowl games for the first time in program history.
