One of the quieter recruitments taking place in the transfer portal surrounds former Texas wide receiver Jontay Cook II.
That’s because he entered the portal at the halfway point of the season and became one of the first names to enter.
He was recently linked to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes as a potential destination in the portal after commenting on the latest social media post from Coach Prime.

“I ain’t hard 2 find,” Cook wrote on Sanders’ Instagram.
In addition to the public comment, Cook included Sanders’ former team, Jackson State, in his Top 5 when coming out of high school, prior to selecting Texas.
Coming out of DeSoto High School in the Class of 2023, Cook was listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 29th-ranked player. He also checked in as the third-ranked player at his position and the sixth-ranked player in the state of Texas.
In two seasons with the program, Cook recorded 16 catches for 273 yards and two scores. With Colorado’s offense known as one of the nation’s top passing attacks, Cook may just find a new home with the Buffaloes in Boulder.
