While Oklahoma State’s defense was much-maligned in 2024, losing one of its best players is certainly not what Cowboy fans had in mind to help them improve going forward.
Unfortunately for them, that is exactly what will happen as three-year starting S/LB Kendal Daniels plans to enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Daniels was named a Freshman All-American and Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2022 and has since played a key role in the Pokes’ defense since then.
Daniels has not missed a single game over the past three seasons, appearing in all 39 contests and collecting 240 tackles, 22.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, five interceptions, 18 PBUs, and two forced fumbles.
In 2024, Daniels had a career-low in tackles (64), but career-highs in both TFLs (10.5) and sacks (5.5).
Despite being on a bad defensive unit this past season, Daniels will likely draw plenty of interest in the transfer portal, as he’s an impressive individual defender and was ranked as a consensus four-star coming out of high school in 2021.
