With the first official day of the transfer portal opening officially in the books, Big 12 teams across the league have seen some major departures.
Of the 16 teams in the league, 156 players have elected to enter the portal, including five-stars, four-stars, three-stars, unranked prospects, and multiple big-name transfers.
A recent list from the Ten12 Podcast Network ranked the departures for each team from most departures to least on the first day of the portal season.

While some teams’ 2024 season makes sense for the mass amount of departures like UCF, Arizona, and Utah, there were some interesting outliers from the group. Oklahoma State, despite finishing dead last in conference play, sits in the miffle of the pack with Kansas State and West Virginia with the eighth-most departures.
Cincinnati is another team that comes to mind as the group missed bowl eliginiltiy tnriely with a 5-7 record. The team closed out the year on a five-game loses streak, however, the group has remained relatively in tact with just five outgoing transfers.
While it’s tough to say who will lead the league in most transfer portal transactions this offseason, the need for coaches around the country to get down to the scholarship cap of 105 athletes will make for some interesting names to hit the portal.
