One of the best defenders in the Big 12 has now entered the transfer portal as Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis became the latest Wildcat to enter the portal on Wednesday.
A top NFL prospect, Davis is listed at 6-foot-4 and exhibits a rare combination of length and speed that makes him one of the best shutdown corners in college football.
Davis was named second-team All-Big 12 in 2024 and was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented annually to the best defense back in college football.
After appearing in five games as a freshman in 2022, Davis burst onto the scene as one of the best defensive backs in the country in 2023, starting 11 of 13 games and earning second-team All-Pac-12 honors from the Associated Press.
Over his three-year stint at Arizona, Davis totaled 76 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, one interception, a fumble recovery, and 23 PBUs.
Davis was a three-star recruit out of high school but will be highly sought-after in this transfer portal cycle.
