According to a report from Jeff Goodman, the Kansas State Wildcats have dismissed impact transfer wing Achor Achor from their program.
“Kansas State’s Achor Achor has been dismissed from the team, a source told The Field of 68,“Goodman wrote on Twitter. “Achor was averaging 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds this season after transferring in from Samford – where he averaged 16.1 points and 6.1 rebounds last season.”
Goodman later added that his dismissal is tied to “conduct detrimental to the team,” leading Jerome Tang to decide and cut ties with the Samford transfer.
Achor appeared in seven of Kansas State’s nine games this season, averaging 13.3 minutes per game. To this point in the season, he’d averaged 7.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, with a season-high 21 points in 24 minutes during a 120-73 win over UAPB.
In Kansas State’s most recent game, an 88-71 loss to St. John’s, Achor appeared for just five minutes and logged two rebounds, two personal fouls and a turnover, going 0-1 from the field.
The Wildcats are 6-3 on the year and will face Drake (12/17) and Wichita State (12/21) before opening up Big 12 play against No. 22 Cincinnati on December 30.
