One of the best players in college football has played his last game at this level after Tetairoa McMillan, the standout wide receiver for Arizona, declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday.
Widely regarded as a surefire first-round talent, McMillan closed out his collegiate career with nearly identical stats over the past two seasons — impressive considering how vastly different 2023 and 2024 ended up going in Tucson.
After recording 90 receptions for 1,402 yards and ten touchdowns last season, McMillan had 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight scores this season while playing one less game.
In his official announcement on Instagram, McMillan thanked all the people in his corner, including the fans, and let everyone know just how much of an honor it was to wear the Arizona uniform.
“Wildcat Nation, this journey has been everything I dreamed of and more,” McMillan said. “From the moment I committed to the University of Arizona, to every second spent wearing that Arizona jersey… it’s been an absolute honor. The University of Arizona has provided me with the platform to grow and chase my dreams…
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the best fans in the country, I appreciate you for all of the love and support you have given me these last 3 years. I will always be a Wildcat.”
McMillan is almost unanimously considered a lock to go inside the first ten picks of the 2025 NFL Draft, and considering just how important the wide receiver position has become in the professional game, he might not even last through the first five picks.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 212 pounds, McMillan exhibits an NFL frame with great size, weight, and length, and is an incredible athlete for his size.
He’s the No. 1 wide receiver in the draft class, a top-five talent, and draws comparisons to players like Drake London or Tee Higgens.
