It wasn’t that long ago that Chandler Morris was navigating the pocket for Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs.
Perhaps it feels like an eternity ago since the program has watched Josh Hoover bud into one of the great young quarterbacks in the Big 12 since taking over for Morris, but you’d only have to go back to November 18, 2023, to see him on the field for TCU.
Morris recently hit the transfer portal after a breakout year at North Texas, and while TCU isn’t on his list of potential suitors, two Big 12 programs are very interested in bringing him back into the league.
After taking a visit to Oklahoma State earlier this week, Morris is now set to head to Orlando to visit with Scott Frost and the UCF Knights, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
According to 247Sports Transfer Portal rankings, Morris is the No. 19 quarterback available and just outside the top 100 overall players.
In 2024, Morris turned in his first full season as a starter at the collegiate level, throwing for 3,774 yards and 31 touchdowns with 12 interceptions, adding 242 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
UCF is currently short on scholarship quarterbacks, with two of them in the portal, while Oklahoma State dealt with quarterback issues all season long and is looking for a new face in the room.
If either of them can land the former Horned Frog it would be a major win for their offense – and don’t worry TCU fans, neither UCF or Oklahoma State are on the schedule in 2025.
