The Texas Tech Red Raiders got some big news on Friday night, landing two huge players in the transfer portal. Mississippi State cornerback Brice Pollock committed to Texas Tech and Miami (Ohio) wide receiver Reggie Virgil also joined the Red Raiders on Friday evening.
The Red Raiders now have the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country after these two recent additions.
Pollock is ranked as a Top 5 cornerback in the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports. The 6’1”, 190-pound cornerback totaled 72 tackles, 10 passes defended, one forced fumble, and one interception during his two seasons in Starkville. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Meantime, Virgil stands at 6’4”, 190 pounds and had 41 catches for 816 yards and nice touchdowns this past season. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Texas Tech now has the No. 1 transfer class in the country after these two additions on Friday night, according to 247Sports.
The Red Raiders are now ranked ahead of Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Houston, and Louisville, who round out the Top 5 as of December 14th, 2024. Texas Tech’s other top transfer is inside offensive lineman Hunter Zambrano, who comes from Illinois State.
But these rankings will fluctuate. The players on teams who have made the College Football Playoff will have 5 days from after their season ends to enter the transfer portal. So expect a flurry of players to continue to hit the portal in the weeks ahead as teams get eliminated from the College Football Playoff.
