One of the longest collegiate careers in recent memory has officially come to an end with Oklahoma State quarterback Alan Bowman entering the NFL Draft.
Bowman spent the previous seven years of college football at three different spots, including Texas Tech, Michigan, and Oklahoma State.
Bowman released a sentimental message to his family, teammates, coaches, and fans on social media to announce the decision, which he capped off by signing, “The Last Bedlam Winning Quarterback, Alan Bowman.”
In addition to trolling the Sooners, Bowman responded to a fake report about the possibility of him returning for an eighth year of football, saying, “I think seven was enough.”
“First, I want to take a moment to praise my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for giving me the talent and ability to play the game I love, “Bowman wrote. “I thank God for the journey, the struggles, and the people that have helped shape me into the person I am today.”
“I want to thank my beautiful fiance Jessica and my family for sacrificing every weekend in the fall to endlessly support me and my dream,” Bowman continued. “To the hundreds of teammates I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the field with, thank you for all the memories, early mornings, and championship moments we shared. To Oklahoma State, the past two years have been a wild ride. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. I would not have wanted to finish my career anywhere else. This is a special place with special people.”
Bowman finished his thoughts by saying, “It is time to take the next step in my career and pursue a lifelong dream of playing in the NFL. I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
The Texas native finishes his career with 11,212 passing yards and 65 career touchdown passes.
