Will Deion Sanders stick around at Colorado after his son, Shedeur Sanders, is drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft this April?
It’s been a question asked several times throughout the season, sometimes even overshadowing the incredible nine-win season that Sanders’ Buffaloes ended up turning in.
From the Dallas Cowboys to the Florida State Seminoles, Sanders’ name has been brought up for jobs over the past several months, whether they have vacancies or not.
In a recent appearance on The Pacman Jones Show, Sanders once again set the record straight on where he stands with the University of Colorado.
“I love where I am, I’m happy where I am…I can’t wait to see what the future beholds where I am,” Sanders said. “I love Boulder, Colorado.
“I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado Buffs from here on. I want to finish here. I want to put the flag…I want to put my name on the mountains out there, I want to put my flag down in Colorado.”
In just his second season as the Buffs’ head coach, Sanders had CU tied for first place in the Big 12 standings and in the final College Football Playoff Top 25, checking in at No. 23.
With a win over No. 17 BYU, Colorado would have its first ten-win season since 2016 and just its second double-digit win season since the turn of the century.
Colorado (9-3) will face BYU (10-2) in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Saturday, December 28, 2024, with coverage provided by ESPN.
