Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes added a new name from the transfer portal on Wednesday evening with the addition of an Oklahoma transfer.
That player is Sooners’ defensive back Makari Vickers, who spent the previous two seasons in Norman.
Vickers is coming off of a redshirt season in 2024 after seeing action in just four games. As a true freshman in 2023, the Florida native played in eight games for the Sooners, recording eight total tackles and one pass breakup in the stretch.
Coming out of Robert F Munroe Day School in the Class of 2023, Vickers was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 75th-ranked player. He also checked in as the sixth-ranked player at his position and the 18th-ranked player in the state of Florida.
With the addition of Makari Vickers, the Buffaloes have now added a total of eight different players through the transfer portal this fall. Vickers joins a group that includes Louisiana Tech’s Buck Buchanan, Jacksonville State’s Reginald Hughes, Fresno State’s Gravriel Lightfoot, Alabama’s Jahiem Oats, Northwest Missouri State’s Zach Atkins, ULM’s Carter Miller, and Liberty’s Kaidon Salter.
Colorado returns to the football field for one last time this season on Saturday, December 28th, in the Alamo Bowl vs. BYU.
