Kansas State Adds Talented WR in Transfer Portal

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Texas Tech

On Wednesday, Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats added a new player in the transfer portal with the addition of Purdue wide receiver Jaron Tibbs.

Tibbs, a 6-foot-3 sophomore from Indianapolis, Indiana, joins the Wildcats after being a solid pass catcher at Purdue.

In 2024, Tibbs recorded 25 grabs for 305 yards and two scores. While the Boilermakers finished off 2024 as one of the nation’s worst teams, Tibbs showed serious promise with a bit of a revolving door at quarterback.

Coming out of Cathedral High School in the Class of 2023, Tibbs was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 1196th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 95th-ranked player at his position and the 12th-ranked player in the state of Indiana.

With the addition, Tibbs became the second addition this offseason for Kansas State alongside former Oklahoma defensive back Jayden Rowe.

The addition is big for Chris Klieman’s group as the Wildcats will need to replace five of their top six wide receivers. After losing players like Keagan Johnson, Tre Spivey, Dante Cephas, Jadon Jackson, and more, the Wildcats will need to address the position largely this fall.

Tibbs is the first addition for the group and a great start to the transfer portal window.
