The rich got richer in the transfer portal on Thursday, with Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders adding another Top 25 transfer portal prospect.
That player is Georgia Tech EDGE Romello Height, who is another impressive addition to the defensive side of the ball in Lubbock.
The 6-foot-3 junior from Dublin, Georgia, was a tough player to slow down in 2024. He recorded 34 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception in his junior season. Texas Tech marks the fourth program in four seasons for the Georgia native after spending time at Auburn, USC, and Georgia Tech over the past three seasons.
Coming out of Dublin High School in the Class of 2020, Height was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 384th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 24th-ranked player at his position and the 35th-ranked player in the state of Georgia.
After three seasons of collegiate football, Height was awarded the honor of being one of the Top 25 players available in the transfer portal. He checks in as the fifth-ranked player at his position and the 25th-ranked player overall.
With the addition, Texas Tech’s class now checks in as the nation’s top-ranked group, with a total of 15 different incoming prospects.
