On Saturday, Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats added a new target for Avery Johnson in the transfer portal with the commitment of former Texas Tech and Boston College wide receiver Jerand Bradley.
Bradley, a 6-foot-5 wideout from from Frisco, Texas, spent the previous season at Boston College after starting his career in Lubbock.
In his four-year career, Bradley recorded a total of 98 grabs for 1,368 yards and 12 touchdowns. His best season came in 2022 at Texas Tech, when he posted 51 grabs for 744 yards and six scores. The Wildcats relied on quarterbacks coach Matt Wells‘ relationship with Bradley after coaching him in Lubbock in 2021.
Coming out of DeSoto High School in the Class of 2021, Bradley was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 420th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 65th-ranked player at his position and the 60th-ranked player in the state of Texas.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, December 9, 2024, and will remain open until Saturday, December 28, with an exception for players on teams who play bowl games after the window closes. According to NCAA data, 2,273 FBS football players entered the transfer portal in 2023-24 school year, with 1,558 (68.5%) undergraduates and 715 (31.5%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 57% reported that they enrolled in another school, 8% withdrew their names from the portal, and 35% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
