When it comes to calling it straight, there are few better in college football than Tim Brando. And while many of the loudest voices in college football spent their Saturday making the case that more SEC teams should have been in the College Football Playoff, Tim Brando wasn’t having any of it.
Brando responded to an X post, which was in reference to a post on X from Paul Finebaum.
Here’s how Brando brilliantly handled the response, saying, “Ahhh we can always count on @Finebaum to Lead the “Looney Tunes” from Bama and beyond. Paul & I are still friends(I think) but he, some AD’s, plenty of Head Coaches @Lane_Kiffin at the top of that list (bless his heart)have all embarrassed the South with their whining after nothing but PURE PLAYOFF PRIVILEGE in the past. Here’s another “P” word for it. PATHETIC! Every game played in the New format is a referendum on how poorly the @SEC has been treated.”
Timmy B rarely misses. And he didn’t in this response.
The SEC media bias has already been on full display throughout the first two days of the playoff. Fan boys, “analysts”, coaches, and others are already insinuating that this Playoff should basically become the SEC invitational.
Exhibit A: Lane Kiffin.
The Ole Miss head coach posted this as Penn State was blowing out SMU on Saturday afternoon in State College, Pennsylvania.
Thankfully, there are good college football media folks like Tim Brando who aren’t afraid to push back. If we had more like him, the sport would undoubtedly be in a better place than it is today.
