The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is spending more time in the spotlight than ever before, and unfortunately, that light is shining into his personal life, too.
Recently, some off-field drama with his fiance, Leanna Lenee, has been brought into focus and an old video of her dancing with another man was brought to the surface. That appears to have been the last straw for the Colorado star, who responded by de-activating his Instagram account.
Hunter, who appears to be a perfectly likeable and hard-working teammate and person, is dealing with one of the most unfortunate parts of becoming a superstar in today’s world.
Amidst all of the drama, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders even stepped in on X to defend his teammate.
“All y’all athletes, entertainers, artist etc if y’all genuine trying to holla at trav y’all know how to get in touch with him or someone around,” Sanders tweeted on Sunday night. “At this point, y’all just posting for the algorithm, trying to look cool.”
All of this comes after weeks of social media critiquing their relationship and even the camera catching her ignoring him after his final home game and her reaction — or lack thereof — to him winning the Heisman, among other things.
Luckily for Hunter, this week brings good news as he’ll finally get a chance to get back on the field with Shedeur and his teammates. Colorado is set to face BYU in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Saturday, December 28, which should be one of the most-watched games of the bowl season.
