With some big moves made in the previous two weeks of the transfer portal cycle, one Big 12 team earned praise among the nation’s best with a Top 10 portal add.
That team was the Colorado Buffaloes, who earned a Week 2 Top 10 transfer portal player in the eyes of 247Sports with the addition of Alabama defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis.
“Deion Sanders expects to lean heavily on the transfer portal again and has already secured the big prize for Colorado with former Alabama defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis on the move,” 247Sports’ Cody Nagel wrote. “The massive 6-foot-5, 370-pound behemoth played in only four games before preserving his redshirt. In the past three years, Oatis recorded 57 total tackles with 1.5 sacks and five pass breakups.”
Coming out of Columbia High School in the Class of 2022, Oatis was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 71st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 12th-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Mississippi.
After spending the previous three seasons at Alabama, Oatis worked his way into an incredible transfer portal prospect. He joins Colorado as the 14th-ranked player overall in the transfer portal and the top-ranked player at his position.
With the addition, the Buffaloes have now added 11 total players in the transfer portal, giving them the fifth-ranked class in the Big 12 Conference.
