The Oklahoma Sooners first season in the SEC ended with a dud after they wrapped the season in Fort Worth and fell to Navy 21-20 in the Armed Forces Bowl.
The Sooners jumped out to a 14-0 lead with touchdowns on their first two drives, and then did not score the rest of the game. OU’s offensive drives then went like this: Two turnovers on downs, two punts, a fumble, missed field goal and a touchdown in the final seconds. But OU went for a two-point conversion and a win, but QB Michael Hawkins took a sack, which essentially sealed the win for Navy.

Meantime, Navy scored a touchdown in the second, third and fourth quarter. Navy’s go-ahead touchdown came with under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter as Blake Horvath’s six-yard run capped off a 12-play, 66-yard drive to put Navy in front.
Social media had a field day as OU’s first SEC season ends in a mediocre bowl with a loss to a service academy.
