Ahead of the Big 12 matchup between BYU and Colorado, senior safety Shilo Sanders took a shot at their in-conference foe.
Sanders reminded his teammates that BYU was one of the teams standing in the way of their trip to the Big 12 Championship.
“Let’s make them pay for that,” Sanders said about BYU beating Houston, a game that blocked the Buffaloes from reaching Arlington.

The Buffaloes took on their conference foe due to previous bowl ties with the Pac-12. Conference opponents do not primarily face off in bowl season, but with the Buffaloes and Cougars not facing off in the regular season, the matchup still had plenty of interest.
But once the game kicked off, it was all BYU, who rolled to a 36-14 victory.

While multiple tie-breaker scenarios kept the Buffaloes out of the title game, had BYU lost to Houston and Kansas State beat Iowa State, the Buffaloes could have taken the field vs. Arizona State in Arlington, Texas earlier this month.
Colorado and BYU finished tied at the top of the league in the Big 12 regular season with conference records of 7-2. They were joined by Iowa State and Arizona State, who also finished at 7-2.
Colorado’s season ended with a 9-4 record. And on Sunday the Buffaloes lost two assistant coaches to Mississippi State.
