While it seems increasingly likely that Quinn Ewers won’t be in the 2025 NFL Draft, Texas doesn’t appear to have any issues with their quarterback of the future, Arch Manning, looking elsewhere for opportunities.
During media availability in the days leading up to Texas’s Peach Bowl matchup with Arizona State, Manning was asked if there were any changes he’d like to see to the transfer portal calendar or the playoff in general.
Seeing his chance to kill the question before it was even asked, Manning took the opportunity to squash any rumors about his name being submitted.
“I really have no plans on entering the portal or anything,” Manning said. “I don’t really know about the [transfer portal] windows and everything. I’m probably the wrong guy to ask about that.”
With Texas fans clamoring in recent weeks over the possibility of their superstar quarterback leaving before he really even gets going, this is a huge weight to be lifted off of their shoulders.
Rumors have been flying since it’s become more likely that Ewers is back for another season of college football in 2025, but with Manning sounding ever-confident about where he’s at right now, it seems more likely that it will be Ewers who leaves Austin, and not the five-star sophomore.
