One of the best wide receivers in the Big 12 has officially played his final game in the league after two years and 26 career games.
Iowa State wide receiver Jayden Higgins posted an emotional goodbye to Cyclone nation on Tuesday afternoon, announcing his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
“First, I want to thank God for the opportunities that He has given me and for blessing me with my athletic abilities,” Higgins wrote on X. “Thank you to all of my teammates, coaches, staff, and fans at Eastern Kentucky and Iowa State. It’s been an honor to represent the names on the front of my jersey week in and week out.”
In his two seasons with the program, Higgins posted 140 grabs for 2,166 yards and a total of 15 scores. The Florida native transferred to Iowa State in 2022 after an impressive start to his career with Eastern Kentucky. During his first two seasons of college football, Higgins recorded 87 catches for 1,151 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Higgins finished his thoughts by saying, “A huge thank you to my friends, family, and loved ones, who have encouraged and supported me through the trials and tribulations. I am grateful for everyone who has been on this journey with me, and I am excited to announce that I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
