Last Friday, Arkansas took down Texas Tech 39-26 in the Liberty Bowl, but the final score has hardly been the most noteworthy thing about the matchup.

That distinction goes to an interaction between Arkansas offensive lineman Fernando Carmona and Texas Tech defensive back C.J. Bakersville.

In the video below – which has over 32 million views – Carmona can be seen stepping directly on Bakersville’s ankle, which appears to be 100% intentional.

In a since-deleted tweet, Bakersville gave his account of the incident and called Carmona out by name.

“There’s no denying that Arkansas played a great game last night,” Baskerville said. “I am not taking that away from them. But #55 Fernando Carmona blatantly stepping on my ankle and pressing down on it on purpose is straight-up dirty. He proceeds to say, “Got your b**** a***.” Do better, Arkansas.”

While it was radio silence for a while, Carmona addressed the viral video with his own post to Twitter.

“I’d like to apologize for my actions last Friday night in the Liberty Bowl,” Carmona posted. “I let me emotions get away from me. I have nothing but respect for Texas Tech and the game of football. I apologize to my team and coaches. I’m not that kind of player and will learn from this.”
