The Texas Longhorns and Arizona State Sun Devils met in the Peach Bowl on Wednesday afternoon, a quarterfinal match up in the College Football Playoff. And the game looked like it was going the way of Texas early in the game, with Texas jumping out to a 14-3 first quarter lead, before taking a 17-3 lead into halftime.
And for some unknown reason, Texas’ star freshman linebacker Collin Simmons took to Instagram at halftime and posted this shot at Arizona State star running back Cam Skattebo.
Of course, the Sun Devils came roaring back in the second half, scoring 16 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 24.
Skattebo has rushed for over 130 yards and one touchdown in this game, while also throwing for a touchdown as well.
The winner of the game will advance Goodyear Cotton Bowl, where they will play the winner of No. 1 Oregon and No. 8 Ohio State, who are set to face off in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday.
As for Simmons, it’s been a solid freshman season for him on the field. Last week, the Maxwell Football Club announced that he has been named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year. He beat out South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who won the SEC’s Freshman of the Year.
