Cincinnati Basketball Without Star Player vs. West Virginia

Syndication: The Enquirer

Heading into Wednesday night’s matchup against the West Virginia Mountaineers, Wes Miller and the Cincinnati Bearcats will be without one of their star players.

Senior guard Simas Lukosius will be sidelined for the game, which is a massive hit to the Bearcats’ scoring offense.

The 6-foot-8 native of Kaunas, Lithuania, has been a major factor for the Bearcats this season and has established himself as one of the best shooters in the Big 12 Conference. In his fourth season of college basketball, Lukosius is averaging 11.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 40% shooting from the field.

While Cincinnati will be without their second-leading scorer against the Mountaineers, they will have the added bonus of sophomore forward Arrinten Page returning to action after playing just 13 minutes in the last five games.

Cincinnati takes the court in Morgantown as a 2.5-point underdog to the home-town Mountaineers. The Bearcats desperately need to win some games down the stretch if they hope to jump out of the next, next four out category and land in the NCAA Tournament field.

Tip-off between Cincinnati and West Virginia takes place on Wednesday, February 19th, at 6:00 p.m. central.
