Anonymous NFL Team Calls Shedeur Sanders ‘Brash and Arrogant’ at Scouting Combine

NCAA Football: Colorado at Arizona State

While Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks to hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft, one team in the top seven appears to be going in a different direction with their pick.

According to NFL Insider Josina Anderson, one team with a Top 7 pick in the upcoming draft believes that Sanders was “brash and arrogant” in their meetings with the Colorado passer.

“I am disappointed to hear that a quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top 7 referred to Shedeur Sanders as coming off “brash” and “arrogant” in his team interview and making his assessment known to a number of people, per source,” Anderson said. “I’m purposely not naming the team so as not to directly call the team out. I’m just sharing that this coach’s personal assessment is the direct opposite of how Sanders came across to many reporters in his press conference with the media at the Combine.”

Sanders’ demeanor has been the subject of criticism multiple times throughout his career. Still, he remains one of the top options for a quarterback-needy team in 2025. He and Miami quarterback Cam Ward are expected to come off the board within the first 10 picks as the top two options in the class.

“Sanders appeared to go out of his way to acknowledge multiple media members, regardless of whether they were recognizable or not,” Anderson continued. “He seemed cordial, polite, witty, thoughtful, and confident (as many athletes are). Alternately, these observations were distinctly different from how another quarterback prospect came off to some in the media last year in Indy.”

Anderson finished her statement on Sanders by saying, “He’s literally Deion Sanders’ son, and despite growing up different from most, seemed fairly grounded.”

The 2025 NFL Draft is set to kick off on April 17th, live from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
